It started in 2018 with one Tesla, a Home Assistant install, and a daily chore. Someone in our team rigged up a script to charge their car at the cheapest hour of the night. It worked beautifully. Then their friends got Teslas.

But it wasn't easy to copy. Home Assistant is a hobby, not an app. You can't hand it to your dad. You can't rely on it when you are tired. And every evening you still had to check tomorrow's dynamic rates, find the cheapest window, set the Tesla schedule, and hope the forecast was right. Two minutes of tedium nobody should be doing in 2026.

So we built it into an app. No €1,000 smart wall box. No Home Assistant. No daily fiddling. You connect your Tesla, you tell it when you need to leave, Voltflow handles the rest.

It works for lease drivers too, even when your lease tariff is not ideal, charging at the cheapest moments still beats the daily average. Quietly, every night.
